Move over, Ms L!

Hi all, wondering why you are looking at this jumbled up page? This is due to the fact that Facebook didn't like our url since it starts with wog, so we have been forced to move the blog. This was some time ago, and we have placed a script which would automatically send you to our new location. Obviously, this hasn't worked for all of you, since we have just finished moderating some of your comments which appeared on this site recently, and not on our new (and improved!) site. So what we're saying is head on over to our new site, and update your bookmarks!

Updated UK press release of A Hard Day's Night

Photo: Metrodome Distribution/Second Sight Films
This just in - an updated press release about the UK editions of A Hard Day's Night on DVD and Blu-ray. The last press release didn't have any information about bonus features, this has now been added.
Bonus features include:

  • 'In Their Own Voices' - a new piece combining 1964 interviews with The Beatles with behind-the-scenes footage and photos
  • 'You Can't Do That: The Making of Hard Day's Night' - a documentary by producer Waiter Shenson, including an outtake performance by The Beatles
  • 'Things They Said Today', documentary about the film featuring director Richard Lester, music producer George Martin, screenwriter Alun Owen and cinematographer Gilbert Taylor
  • 'Picturewise' - a new piece about Richard Lester's early work featuring a new audio interview with the director
  • 'Anatomy of a Style' - a new piece on Richard Lester's methods
  • New interview with author Mark Lewisohn
Still, we certainly hope the rest of the bonus material from the US Criterion Collection release will also be made available for us Europeans.

Also, there's more information about audio tracks:

Blu-ray Audio: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 Surround, LPCM Stereo, LPCM Mono
DVD Audio: Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround, Dolby Digital Stereo, Dolby Digital Mono

Recommended retail price is still £19.99 for the Blu-ray and £15.99 for the DVD.
Release date is still July 4th for download and 21 July for DVD and Blu-ray, still it has yet to appear as an Amazon preorder in the UK - but the US one is listed as an import...someone important should have a talk with Second Sight Films. The way things are going, people are going to import the US copies before the UK company gets their stuff together.

And the new and improved press release still refers to Wilfrid Brambell as Wilfred Bramble, but there you go. Symptom of the times.

This just popped up today Roger.
Different front cover, and definitely different to the US version in terms of content... Dag-nam-it!
